We thought this would be a great time for a refresher in a few tips you follow as you get ready for some new hardwood floors.
Many hardwood floor installers are not in the business of moving furniture. Make sure that you discuss this with your floor man before hand. If furniture was easy to move, furniture movers would not have jobs. Lots of pieces of furniture can be extremely heavy. It is cumbersome to move and takes time. Time efficiency and management are the difference between a floor man finishing your floor in a couple days vs him taking upwards of a week.
If you are having new floor being delivered to your home, make sure you give it a couple days to just sit there an acclimate to the new environment that the wood is going to be living in. Every home is different and has different levels of humidity. Moisture can be a hardwood floor's worst enemy. The last thing you want is for the wood you purchased to start bending every which way because you wanted to rush the installation process.
